A Look at the 2023 Jeep Wrangler

The Jeep Wrangler is one of the most iconic vehicles of all time, not to mention one of the most capable in off-road driving. Here are some important details to know if you are considering a new Wrangler in 2023.

Legendary off-road capabilities

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler continues to offer the same impressive off-road capabilities that have been associated with the Jeep name for decades. To do so, the Wrangler offers 4 different gasoline engines, two transmissions, and three 4x4 systems in two body styles. In addition to the 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine and the 3.6L V6, the Wrangler can also be powered by a 6,4L V8 engine in the Rubicon 392 version, which comes standard with the Selec-Trac 4wd system. Both of the other engines as well as the mild hybrid e-Torque version of the V6 are available with either the Command-Trac or Rock-Trac 4x4 systems. The Wrangler also benefits from a raised suspension and an underbody that was designed to increase approach and departure angles.

The 4xe version

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler continues to offer a plug-in hybrid variant called 4xe. This model was Jeep’s first foray into electrification when it arrived on the market in 2021. Featuring a 17-kWh battery and a turbocharged 2.0L engine, the Wrangler 4xe is capable of driving up to 40 kilometres on electricity alone, even on an off-road track. This makes the Wrangler much more efficient than before while its 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque make it the fastest Wrangler in the lineup except for the Rubicon 392.

Easy to live with everyday

Despite its off-road focus, the 2023 Jeep Wrangler is a pleasant vehicle to live with in everyday driving due to its suspension and steering system which are more refined than previous models, and to the long list of onboard technologies. For example, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included starting from the Sport S trim level and an 8.4-inch screen can be ordered for the Uconnect infotainment system in upper trim levels. Blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors are also standard on Sahara High-Altitude and Rubicon 392 models.
